Inscription Mass

Recently, the children who are preparing for their First Reconciliation, Holy Communion or Confirmation attended the Mass of Inscription. This is an occasion for them and their parents to commit themselves to prepare for these great sacraments. This is an especially blessed time, and for all of us to recommit ourselves to our Faith.

First Reconciliation

Congratulations to those children who received their First Reconciliation this week and all children involved in this Sacramental Program. We hope this experience filled our children with a closer understanding of God’s endless mercy and love.

We thank our teachers, staff and our parent community who have helped, prepared and supported the children throughout this Sacrament journey.

Confirmation

After learning about the Pentecost story, the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Sacrament of Baptism, the candidates are well prepared to receive the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation commencing next Friday, 17 June 2022 at 5.30 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

First Eucharist

On Sunday, 26 June 2022 our Communicants and their families will be joining the parish community to celebrate the Sacrament of the Eucharist. All in our community are welcome to attend.

The word 'Communion' means to be united. Catholics believe that in Holy Communion we are united in a special way with Jesus Christ.

At his Last Supper, Jesus said of the bread that he shared among his followers, "Take and eat, this is my body." When we receive Holy Communion, Catholics believe that in a mysterious way we are sharing in the body and blood of Christ.

Holy Communion and the whole celebration is also known as Eucharist, from a Greek word meaning ‘Thanksgiving’. www.catholicaustralia.com.au
